Microstock Photo of the Day (August 15, 2008)

This photo I did of a Red Cardinal fledgling is still one of my favorite. This little bird was trying to fly. I kept following it around and shooting exposures, while its 2 parents chirped both encouragement and panic to the little bird.

Brooke Whatnall,

Thank you so much for your comment! I chased this little bird all over the place just to get this shot!
Why don't we exchange links!
Welcome to Shutterstock and I'm sure you'll do great! :)

What a wonderful shot. so fragile and yet so clear with hesitation and vitality both revealed. Very impressed by your eye and also determination to capture such a moment. Thanks for sharing. so great to see your progress towards excellence.

a.l.y.,

Thanks for your kind comment! You know what was really difficult? I had a 50mm EF Macro on my Canon when I was chasing this little critter around trees and bushes. I had to get up right into its face and wait for it to settle down before popping this shot! My friends were surprised I was able to even pull this shot off with such a short prime lense. I look forward to further C&C from you!
